Meet Jax :-)

My handsome boy, Jax!
He is smiling in this picture. A smile is everything!

Jax came to us when I needed him the most! His previous owners, who we love and respect for giving up, didn't have the time with several kids in after school activities and work to give him the time they knew he deserved.

Adoption is hard to me. When I was married we had a very handsome Labradoodle, Leno. After our divorce I moved into a small apartment (no pets allowed) and my ex-husband moved in with his parents who didn't want pets. Choosing a new owner for your best friend is a very hard thing to do. How do you know if it's the right match? The right home? When we found his forever home we just knew it was it - it was his place!

The fact that Jen and Rick chose us means the world to me! They didn't know us. There isn't anything overly special about us. But I needed him. Aside for my extreme love of animals - I recently was diagnosed with a seizure disorder.

We have 2 cats. One of them is very aware of my seizures. The other could care less. But even so ....they are cats. I knew a seizure service dog was out of our price range of $15,000 and I knew Jax needed a home so this is my service dog *ahem* I mean this is my comfort dog :-)

The way I see it is ... he needed us. But we need him too!

(and hey, if people can train their dogs to get a beer out of the fridge I think we can manage to train him to bark when I'm seizing)
